Lubbock, Texas · South Plains
A leaning fence in Lubbock rarely fails on a calm day. It goes down in a spring gust, with one rotted post giving up and pulling the next two over with it. We repair wood, metal, chain link, vinyl and ornamental fence, and we fix the reason it failed so the same spot isn't down again next April.

First we make the line safe and close the gap so pets and kids stay in. Then we rebuild the run: new posts where needed, rails re-hung, pickets or panels replaced.

Wood posts usually rot right at the ground line, where soil moisture and air meet. We pull the old post and its concrete and reset the line, often converting to a galvanized steel post with brackets so the rails stay. Think of it like replacing a bad tooth with an implant: same spot, stronger root.

Pickets loosen as wood dries and shrinks. We re-fasten with exterior screws or ring-shank nails, sister or replace cracked rails, and add a center rail on tall fences that flex.
Bent top rails, loose fabric and broken ties on chain link. Cracked vinyl panels, pickets and popped rails. Broken welds, rusted pickets and loose panels on ornamental iron.
NOAA's 2015–2024 records for Lubbock's airport put the yearly peak two-minute wind between 46.1 and 57.9 mph, and the clay soils near playas swell and shrink more than most of the county's ground, according to USDA soil data. A short post in moving clay, or a wood post wicking moisture at grade, will eventually lose to that combination. When we repair, we look at post depth and footing size, not just the broken board.
If most of the posts are failing, or the pickets are brittle and gray all the way through, a replacement is usually the better spend than patching. We'll tell you plainly which side of the line your fence is on.
HomeGuide's 2026 fence repair guide lists typical repairs at $300 to $900, damaged posts at $250 to $600 per post, and repairs by material per linear foot: wood $20 to $35, chain link $10 to $20, vinyl $25 to $45, wrought iron $30 to $60. National figures, not our quote.
