Pipe Gates
Welded pipe gates for pastures, pens and alleys, hung on pipe posts with heavy hinges and a chain or slam latch you can work from horseback or from a truck window.
Lubbock, Texas · South Plains
Working pens take more abuse than any other fence on a place. Cattle push, horses lean, and every gate opens and closes dozens of times on a working day. We weld and set pipe gates, pens, crowding alleys, corrals and round pens around Lubbock, built so the gates still latch after years of hard use.

Holding pens, sorting pens and alleys built from welded pipe or continuous panels on pipe posts. We lay them out around how you work cattle: where the trailer backs in, where the chute sits, and which way the cattle want to flow.

Solid or panel round pens for starting horses, and arena fence with a smooth inside face so riders' knees don't catch on posts.
Solid-sided alleys keep cattle calm and moving. We weld sheet sides on pipe frames where you want them.
A loaded gate and a cow leaning on a pen side put far more force on a post than wind on a wire fence. Gate posts in pens get deeper footings in concrete. Across Lubbock County's main Acuff soils, USDA's official description puts a hard, caliche-plugged layer at about 38 to 58 inches, so those holes are drilled, not dug. Near a playa or low spot, where USDA rates Randall clay high for shrink-swell, we go deeper again so the post doesn't heave and throw the latch out of line.
We hang gates level and set the latch side with a little clearance for ground movement. That way a gate that latches in a wet May still latches in a dry August. Hinges are adjustable so the gate can be tuned later without cutting welds.
HomeGuide's pipe fence guide notes simple farm gates add $200 to $500 per opening nationally. A full pen system is priced from its layout, posts and footage. Not our quote.
